Judgment and Words
Another day,
Just another day.
Seeing the girls walk in the halls
with their bracelets and bags.
I hear someone call,
"Hey Kate, I like your rags."
Walking along,
head hung down.
Just another day.
Facing the others, with their jewelry and looks.
And me looking awkward,
clutching my books.
Searching for courage,
to face the words.
But being defeated,
again and again.
Just another day.
Judgment and words,
They both entwine,
to grasp and to hold,
all that is mine.
Oh how I wish
that I may be,
away from the words,
that so attack me.
To soar in the sky,
not a worry at all,
To fly with the birds,
that kindly call...
But I end with a sigh,
and then I fall,
back into the world,
where I don't matter at all.
It's just another day.
