Hiding something
Sometimes because of pride or ego or a mistaken idea, one person may not confide in another or tell them the whole truth. Have you ever been in a situation in which you didn't want the other person to know something about you? You had something you wanted to keep secret? How did you act? Did the other person realize you were hiding something? How did your behavior change the way they acted toward you?
Last September, my older sister Sarah and her friend Ann, were planning a surprise birthday party for their other friend Rosie, whose parents never do anything for birthdays, and Rosie was really sad because she had to go and work at the fast food restaurant that her parents own on her birthday!
So a week after her birthday Sarah calls Rosie's parents and tells them of their secret plans, they are thrilled with the idea and are willing to help. Ann and Sarah made an
awesome cake with tie-die frosting and a pink flower. They blew up a lot of balloons and went to Rosie's house, (her parents sent her to work at thier restaurant at that time) and filled her room with balloons and stuck a fan in there so that they would blow every where.
About an hour later Rosie and her younger sister got home, and her mom did not want Rosie's younger sister to go in Rosie's room, (they share a room), so her mom told her to come here and that they needed to talk. Rosie got upset because she thought that her mom was going to chew her younger sister out again for something she accedentally did, and she had a bad day, so when she went into her room she was surprised and was happy nothing was wrong. Sarah, Ann, and Rosies mom were all hiding something, and Rosie thought that her mom was mad.

Book Blog
The book I reviewed is The Hunger Games. It seems like a pretty good book and a lot of my friends that it was surprisingly well written. Although it doesn't look like the type of book I would read, but I would be willing to give it a try. I have not read any of the other books on the top ten list, but I have heard of Breaking Dawn and my older sister told me, along with many others, that it is extremely inappropriate and not a good read for teens.
The reason I probably would not read it is because It sounds to much like the arena games the Romans would play and I think that what they did was horrible and history does not need to repeat itself with thees Hunger Games. I also looked at some other books on Amazon and from what I read about them, such as Wake, they sounded rather inappropriate for teens.

Edgar Allan Poe :)
It seems like reading Edgar Allan Poe stories around Halloween is a rite of passage for students in English classes. He wrote poems such as "The Raven" and "Annabel Lee" and stories like "The Tell-Tale Heart", "The Black Cat", "The Fall of the House of Usher", "The Cask of Amontillado", "The Masque of the Red Death", "The Pit and the Pendulum", etc.If you have read Poe stories before, which ones have you read and what do you remember of them? Did you like them? How scary/creepy were they? Share your memories of you or teachers reading the works of Edgar Allan Poe.
I have read "The Tell Tale heart", "The cask of Amontillado", and a few of his poems. They were very creepy and scary. I like them, especially on Halloween, but they aren't my favorite type of stories in the world. I remember that The Tell-Tale Heart is about this man who likes this one old guy, but decides to kill him because he hates one of the old man's eyes. So he kills him and is later caught and found guilty because he goes mad and confesses to the police.
Last year in english, Mrs. Gardener Turned out all of the lights and had a recording playing of "The Cask of Amontillado". It was so scary! We also wached a movie type thing in Drama last year, it wasn't to scary though, because It was only pictures with people telling the story, so it didn't have that scary efect.

Have you ever studied a skunk's eyes? Write about some item you find beauty in that many others might not.
I don't think that I have met a skunk. Not even a dead one, at least up close. Therefor, I do not think that I have studied their eyes. I am sure that, like all other animals, there must be some type of beauty in a skunk of which I do not know, but I shall make a guess.
A type of beauty in a skunk may be it's furry tail, the way it swishes and shines in the moonlight. It may be the beauty of it's colors, black and white. I think that most of all, people may not notice the luscious color outside of the subtle black pupil.

Have you ever known a secret that you thought you should tell? Did you tell? If you've never experienced this, what do you think it would be like to know a secret that you think is dangerous?
I sort of have, but it wasn't all that dangerous. And yes, I told my mom and older siblings because I felt that I should tell them soon, or I might accidentally tell someone who shouldn't know, like some random kid at school, because I wasn't sure that this was true at all until that person told me.
I think that it would be very scary to know a secret that could be dangerous because what if someone who shouldn't know the secret yet finds out. What if they find out when you are not present to help explain it before they jump to conclusions and judge the secret before they know the whole story. I would hate that!

Write a journal from the perspective of Romeo, Juliet, Friar Laurence or Nurse. It should take place after the end of Act II when Romeo and Juliet have been secretly married. Remember, you ARE this person writing what they would be thinking and feeling at this time. 3 PARAGRAPHS!
Juliet: Dear diary,
Holy cow! I have just been secretly married to one of my most hated enemies! Oh, but I do love him so! I am so freaking scared! What will happen if my parent find out? What if Romeo's parent find out?! I do hope that we can trust Friar Laurence that he will not tell anyone! Oh, what are we going to do? I do not know, but I am with my Romeo, and that is all that matters, for now.
Dear diary,
This morning Romeo and I met in the Capulet's garden, (secretly) so that we could discuss what we are going to do, but we have not arrived at anything. I am so scared! Oh why does this have to happen? Why did I have to fall in love with my greatest enemies son? This isn't fair that our Parents have to disagree so much!
Dear diary
This evening at dinner, I think that my parent's had thought that I look suspicious. I do hope that my more cheerful manner has not given away my secret! I do wish though that I could spend more time with Romeo, He is the only person my heart desires to be with, oh how I yearn for him!

Do you believe in Fate? Are there certain things in life that, once set in motion, are inevitable; things that cannot be stopped once they are started? The story of Romeo and Juliet implies that the path of their love and what happens to them is part of Fate's plan. Do you think this is possible?
I sort of believe in fate. I do not believe that every thing is set in stone by fate, it all depends on what choices we make. I do believe that if you make a certain decision that impacts your life a lot, then it is, if anything, really hard to change.
I wouldn't say that it was Fate's plan, I would say that it was what needed to happen in order to make these two families stop their fighting. And it worked out pretty well and made these families realize that because of their major fude, they lost two people they really loved.

Romeo
Dear Diary, I am so sick of my family! Everybody is fighting everybody and I feel that nobody understands how I feel! And on top of it all my true love Rosaline,.. sigh,.... does not love me back! sigh,... I feel my heart breaking and I can not eat or drink because my heart is full of despair, sigh,... I feel that if she does not return my love soon, I shall be so filled with despair I won't be able to stand it and I will get ill! Oh,... woe unto me!
Dear Diary,
My dear friend and cousin Benvolio is taking me to a capulet party tonight, I haven't the faintest idea why. He says that it will be good for me to get out of the house, but I don't know why he chose a Capulet party, I mean, of all the many parties out there in the world he had to choose one at the Capulet house! I shure hope that it will go well and that it won't be very long, for I have a lot of moping around to do tonight. I hope Rosaline will be there! But what are the odds? How will I be able to not think of her when I see all of those other woman? My heart has truelly broken!

Define true love. Do you believe it exists?
(Hint: have you ever seen it? give an example. Why do you believe/not believe in it?)
(Hint: have you ever seen it? give an example. Why do you believe/not believe in it?)
True love is when a man and a woman fall in love with each other and wish to get married and spend the rest of their lives with each other. I believe it exists because I know that my mom and dad love each other because they have argued allot and are still together even at hard times and that sometimes they just want to run away from the problem, but they stick together.
I have also seen my neighbors love, they have been together for a while even when they have fights. Many of my cousins have been married and they love each other, same with my grandparents.

If you had one superpower, what would it be and why? (Hint: describe exactly what your power would be, why you would want that one, what you would use your power for, etc. Would you be good or evil? Would you use it just for fun or for a good cause?)
If I had a super power, it would be the ability to change my form into any animal or person. Example: I could change my hair length and color to mach some one I see, or I could change into a bird, fish or land animal, but I would not be able to become anything extinct, or any type of insect or bug.. I would want this one because then I would be able to talk to animals and be able to fly when I am a bird or something else that flies. I also would like it because I could change how I look depending on what mood I am in, I could change my hair to be red, black, pink, whatever I want!
I would be god most likely. I would use it for fun, and for a good cause, I would not use it for fun very frequently, and I could pretend to be someone else and listen in on a conversation, or I would be able to travel very far very fast as a bird. This power would be very useful.

What comes to your mind when you hear the words, "Now we're going to read Shakespeare!" Do you cringe in fear? Do you giggle with glee? What past experiences have you had with Shakespeare to make you react the way you do?
When i hear the words, Now we're going to read shakespear!" I fill with dread. Shakespear is very hard for me to read, but some of the plays, or books, such as "A midsummer night's dream, are lots of fun to read and/or wach. So, sometimes I giggle with glee.
Some past experiences I have had with Shakespear include the Renaissance Fair in 5th grade when i played the part of shakespear and had to learn about him. I also had to dress like him and write a one paragraph long speach type thing that i had to recite to people. I have also been to see Romeo and Juliet and McBeth.
